This page is all about my family, past and present. I'm into geneaology, so you'll find a lot of it here. Have fun! Who knows? We may be related!

When it comes to my heritage, I am mostly a European mix: I have ancestry from England, Ireland, Wales(?), Scotland, Switzerland, and France. I also have background in French Canada and various places in North America, including some Native American cultures, only one of which we are sure of. But no matter where they came from, I am proud to claim them all.

Are you a genealogy nut? Well, so am I! (In case you haven't noticed) There are lots of great sites out there that offer searches for family. See if they can help you!

The one aspect of my ancestry that interests me the most is my Indian background, even though my information ends ten generations ago with my 8-great-grandmother Aramepinchone, or Marie Rouensa (name given her at her Catholic baptism), a part of my grandmother's line. Her father's name was Mamenthouensa, later Francis Xavier Rouensa. My family is descended from a daughter from her marriage to her second husband Michel Philippe.

I am sure some of you are familiar with the term "White Man Royalty Syndrome", in which people claim lineage from "Indian Royalty", when in reality it doesn't exist. Well, imagine my father's surprise when he found out that Rouensa really was an Indian chief! I'm sure no one (besides us descendants) has ever heard of the Kaskaskian Indian tribe, but those are my people, diluted though the blood may be (I could probably fit it all inside my pinky finger). Nevertheless, I am proud of it.
